Hunted to extinction by ancient Romans for their bloody games, this proud beast is being brought back and is proud as ever. Golden eyes and rich full mane, in addition to larger size, make this a king among lions. Indeed, he does not seem defeated yet! Mixed media on 9 by 12 bristol board--watercolor, pencil, ink, acrylic, and marker--all combine in a lush rich palette to which this scan gives no justice.
