Advertising on FurBid

FurBid uses an ad banner rotation system to display paid advertisements for furry events, sites, companies, artists, etc. etc.

Banners are FurBid's only source of income, as sellers aren't charged for listing their items, nor are cuts taken from sold items. We certainly appreciate those who choose to advertise on FurBid!

There are three levels of FurBid banner service. Each designed to meet different needs.

Banner Benefits by Level
• Level I : For a mere $10.00 each month you can run a single banner which will rotate through the system. This banner may point to a single website.
• Level II :For only $15.00 each month, you can have four separate banners which will rotate through the system. All banners must point to a single website.
• Level III : For just a bit more, a total of $20.00 each month, you may have a group of ten banners rotating through the FurBid banner service. These banners will need to point at a single website.

Payment can be made via check, Money Order, or via PayPal to [email protected] PayPal is prefered, as the funds transfer is instantaneous and allows us to confirm more easily that you have paid. Please add $1 per payment, as they charge us $1 per transaction.

As part of the service, FurBid will send you at your request, via e-mail, statistics for your banner(s). Included will be number of exposures, number of click-thoughs, and effectiveness of banner percentage (how likely your banner will be clicked, based on comparing number of exposures to number of clicks). This information is sent at the beginning of each month.

Banners can be run forever, or set to "time-out" after a certain date. The latter could be useful for banners advertising an event that takes place on x day, and after x day it's not really sensible to display a banner inviting people to come. Your choice.

The banners themselves must be the standard 60x468 pixels in height and width. GIF or JPEG is acceptable, as they are the most common and supported formats by web browsers. Animated GIFs are of course allowed. Please try to keep the banners under 30kb in size, as our front page is quite large already, and we would like to keep load times somewhat low, so as not to scare away users with slow links.

Banner content must be PG-13 or lower. If the banner links to a page that has adult material, the banner must contain a content warning, unless the linked-to page has its own warning. This is to prevent minors or adults who don't want to see such content from being inadvertently exposed to it, against their will.

Banners will be reviewed first before being inserted into rotation, but rest assured no prejudice or undue preferencental treatment will keep your banners from being accepted. FurBid does reserve the right to reject specific banners for any reason
